In Galapagos on most islands birds are just about under foot as one walks. Although I was with a group of about 20 people, none that I know of noticed the little seagull chick resting its beak on the rock looking at her mom. The adult Galapagos seagull is a gorgeous bird with black eyes that are encircled with a red line. They almost look like painted birds. Also note the white lines at the base of the beak that appears as if it had fish in its beak at all times. I suppose it is to teach the chick where to ask for food.
